The Woorndoo Chatsworth Landcare Group has known the importance of its grasslands for years and has been proactive in restoring them on roadsides and areas of public and private property.

For its 2021 community day, the group hosted two guest speakers to talk grasslands and the potential of creating a biosphere for the Victorian Volcanic Plains region.

Guest speakers were Stuart McCallum and Elia Pirtle of Victorian Volcanic Biosphere Inc who discussed what a biosphere, how they have previously been created around the world, learnings from that, and how creating a biosphere around the grasslands of the VVP could benefit more than just the grasses.
