Join us for Summer fun in the Ramsar area

This Summer enjoy getting to know the Ramsar-listed Glenelg Estuary Discovery Bay region with events to learn more about how special and spectacular the area is.

On January 22 and 23 there are two Summer by the Sea walks at the Estuary mouth, departing from Nelson.
On January 23 there is a community forum discussing the Ramsar site management and the projects being undertaken in the area.
Community Forum – Ramsar Site Management briefing
- 23 January 4pm – 8pm including supper (free)
- CFA Shed Nelson
- Presentation topics to include: Sanderling tracking project, Beach Road/ Eel Creek construction, Wetland extent monitoring, and pest plant and animal outcomes.
Exploring the Glenelg Estuary and Discovery Bay Ramsar Site

Content: Walking/Talking tour of the Ramsar area with Glenelg Hopkins CMA officer and Ramsar site Coordinator, Gavin Prentice.
Walk includes: Livingston Island to Glenelg Estuary entrance; Glenelg Estuary entrance to Discovery Bay beach; and Discovery Bay beach exploration (and return).
