Associate Board positions available
An exciting 12-month opportunity to join the Glenelg Hopkins CMA Board in a development role is being made available to enable the successful candidates to gain skills and experience, and build capability to apply for future board positions.
There are two associate board roles being offered:
Independent Aboriginal Board Delegate (designated position – open age)
Associate Board Member – Youth (18-34yrs)
Previous board experience is not a requirement. The CMA will provide development opportunities and support through, training, induction, mentoring, delegate networking, experience and observation.
We are looking for someone to bring unique, independent insights to our Board. Your experience or interest, can be across a range of areas, such as:
- Community engagement
- Land and water management
- Climate change
- Primary Production
- Strategy and business management
- Infrastructure and project management
- Corporate governance
- Financial and commercial management
The role requires an average of 2 days per month. This is made up of monthly meeting attendance, preparation and reading for Board meetings, participation in Board planning/workshops, CMA events, as well as other learning and development opportunities
These roles are a development role and the delegate is not appointed to the board by the Minister under an Act. This role is to gain experience, provide insight and to help build pathways to future board appointments. The delegate will not have a formal decision-making role on the board or voting rights.
